HOSTSHARD DOCS

Build, upload, run, and monitor Discord bots from one panel.

These docs cover the current HostShard test platform: Discord OAuth, bot creation, dependency setup, console logs, file limits, auto-restart behavior, and abuse guardrails.

QUICK START

Get a bot online

  1. Sign in with Discord from the homepage or dashboard button.
  2. Open Create Bot, enter a bot name, description, runtime, and token.
  3. Wait while HostShard creates the folder and installs detected dependencies.
  4. Open Your bots, select the bot, then use Start from the manage page.

BOT CREATION

Plans, runtimes, and ownership

Free plan

Test accounts currently receive 1 bot slot. The dashboard shows usage as 0/1 or 1/1.

Node.js

Supports Discord.js-style bots and auto-detects packages from require() and import statements.

Python

Creates a Python starter bot and installs common Discord dependencies when setup runs.

Ownership

Bots are tied to the Discord account that created them. Admin tools can manage users, bots, limits, and bans.

FILES

Source manager limits

Editable files250 per bot
Editable folders50 per bot
Browser editor1 MB per file
Upload size25 MB per upload

Dependency folders like node_modules, .git, venv, and __pycache__ are excluded from the editable file/folder count so package installs do not burn the user’s source-file quota.

CONSOLE

Logs and runtime controls

The manage page streams live stdout/stderr and includes controls for Start, Restart, Stop, Kill, Copy Selected, Copy All, Download, and Clear. Dependency install output appears during setup and manual reinstall actions.

WATCHDOG

Auto-restart behavior

If an enabled Windows bot exits unexpectedly, HostShard attempts to start it again. After 4 failed restart cycles inside the restart window, HostShard disables that bot and writes the timeout message into its console log.

SECURITY

Current guardrails

Discord OAuth

Users sign in through Discord. No local password login is used.

Token encryption

Bot tokens are stored encrypted on the host instead of left directly in user-editable files.

Abuse detection

Source scans block obvious mass-DM, spam, raid, nuke, and destructive bot patterns.

Cloudflare routing

Public frontend traffic can proxy API and auth routes through Cloudflare to avoid exposing the origin directly.

Hosting selfbots, nukebots, spambots, raiders, or anything against Discord’s Terms of Service can result in removal and blacklist from HostShard.

KNOWLEDGE BASE

Common fixes

My bot says setup is still running.

Wait for dependency install to finish before clicking runtime controls. If it fails, open the console and check the setup output.

My bot keeps restarting.

Check the console error. After 4 failed attempts, HostShard disables the bot so the crash loop stops.

I cannot create more files or folders.

The source manager enforces per-bot limits to prevent runaway storage abuse. Delete unused files/folders or reduce uploaded project size.
